Is it safe to see your dermatologist during a pandemic?

Wondering if it is safe to see your dermatologist during a pandemic? These are the steps we have taken at Advanced Dermatology of the Midlands to keep patients, staff, and the community safe.

Is it safe to see your dermatologist during a pandemic?

From the time when we first implemented aggressive precautions in our offices to reduce the risk of spread of COVID-19 infections nearly nine months ago, Advanced Dermatology of the Midlands has been successful at maintaining a clinical environment that has been safe for both our patients and staff. In fact, by developing and implementing numerous different safety measures such as aggressive sanitization and screening protocols, we have been able to prevent any cases of transmissibility of this virus within our clinics.

As we look back over these last nine months and shape our expectations for the months ahead, it is clear there are many remaining challenges for our country, our community, our patients, and our staff—even now as vaccines start to become available.

CDC Recommendations and Safety

As you have likely heard, the CDC continues to recommend social distancing and other safety precautions are maintained. We have no plans to alter our aggressive safety standards at this time, or any time soon. For more information on the safety standards implemented by our staff, please look at this link.

Providing the best and safest dermatology care to our patients is our highest priority. The best dermatologists know that although we do not provide direct care to patients for respiratory infections (including COVID 19/Coronavirus), numerous possibilities for exposure to the virus through work are present. Hence, Advanced Dermatology of the Midlands has not only remained open for our patients’ dermatology needs throughout the entire pandemic, but we are also going above-and-beyond to minimize risks to our patients and staff.

Skin cancer and other skin diseases are rampant in our world. In fact, skin cancer is its own epidemic medical problem. Our clinics at Advanced Dermatology of the Midlands will continue to provide the same great care to all patients.

Covid-19 Vaccine

We are happy to also share with you that all our dermatology providers received their first COVID-19 vaccination. We are very excited about the fact that our dermatologist physicians and advanced practice health professionals will all have immunity to the virus shortly.

Nevertheless, we want all current and future patients to know that we have been successful at maintaining an extremely clean and safe environment throughout this time and remain committed to doing so for the foreseeable future. Throughout the remainder of the pandemic, many of these new enhanced measures will continue—to protect patients and staff.

We hope this holiday season and the upcoming new year bring safe and better fortunes to everyone!
