One of the simplest ways to transform the appearance of your skin is with one of our medical-grade chemical peels. This procedure can enhance your overall complexion as well as improve the appearance of many common skin conditions such as acne, acne scarring, dark spots, age spots, wrinkles, and freckles. Our board-certified dermatologists in Omaha, NE match every patient with the appropriate chemical peel treatment in order to accommodate each person’s skin type and availability for downtime.
What are Chemical Peels?
Gentle acids are used to exfoliate the skin, stripping away dead or damaged skin cells on the outer layer of your skin and allowing new, fresh smoother skin with a more even tone and texture to surface. The chemical solutions are applied to help rejuvenate and hydrate your skin, balance oil production, and give it back its natural glow.
What is the typical treatment like and how many will I need?
A variety of acids and even a combination of acids may be used for a skin care peel. Depending on your goals, we offer superficial peels which have essentially no downtime, and medium-depth chemical peels, after which you may peel for two to seven days. A series of two to four superficial peels may give the same results as one medium-depth peel.
What They Treat
Chemical peels remove the outer layer of damaged skin cells and allow healthy new skin cells to form in their place. They leave the skin looking smoother and more uniform in color. Chemical peels can be used over the entire body to improve damage from sun exposure (sun damage), mild scarring, fine lines, irregular pigmentation, and enhanced skin texture, and uneven skin tone.
However, chemical peel treatments are not the answer to every skin imperfection. They will not improve loose or sagging skin, nor will they change deep furrows or scars significantly.

Downtime: There is a noticeable peeling process with the Rejuvenize Peel, and downtime is more significant compared to the Vitalize Peel. Patients may experience redness and peeling for 2 to 5 days after treatment.
