Juvéderm Voluma XC

Winner of the 2014 Allure
Best of Beauty Breakthrough Award

Fine lines and wrinkles aren’t the only signs of aging. Over time, the cheeks flatten, and the skin may begin to sag. This is caused by a natural loss of volume in the cheek area, or what the experts call age-related mid-face volume loss. JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC injectable gel is designed to correct age-related volume loss and instantly add volume beneath the skin’s surface to lift and contour the cheek area resulting in a subtle, natural lift that helps restore a well-rested, youthful appearance to the midface and improve the appearance of the nasolabial folds. It’s a treatment that focuses on the face, specifically the cheeks, lips, and lines around the mouth.

The first FDA-approved filler is for adults over the age of 21

FAQs

How Is a Procedure With Juvederm Voluma XC Performed?

After a consultation complete with medical history and examination, Juvederm Voluma is administered to your cheek area using a fine needle by an Aesthetic Injection Specialist who will then use their fingers to mold the filler for best results. The safety and effectiveness of Juvederm Voluma in areas of the face other than the cheek area have not been established in clinical studies.

How Long Will the Results of Juvederm Voluma Last?

Juvederm Voluma contains an anesthetic called lidocaine to reduce patient discomfort. Common side effects include minor discomfort during treatment, and we also offer topical anesthesia to make sure you’re comfortable during the procedure.

What Can I Expect During the Juvederm Voluma Recovery Period?

There is virtually no downtime when you get a Juvederm Voluma treatment, and you will be able to resume most activities immediately after the procedure, though we recommend avoiding strenuous exercise and limiting your exposure to sunlight and extreme heat. Keep in mind that it is perfectly normal to experience some mild redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site. These effects are only temporary and should subside within two to four weeks.

When Can I Return to Work After a Treatment With Juvederm Voluma XC?

After receiving Juvederm Voluma injections, most people can return to work immediately.

Who Should Not Receive Juvederm Voluma XC?

To avoid complications and unsatisfactory results, we recommend that you do not receive Juvederm Voluma if you have a history of any allergic reaction from products containing lidocaine or the bacterial proteins used to make Juvederm Voluma. Our providers will also give you a full examination and review your health history to determine if it’s safe for you to receive treatment.
